Responsible for daily production runs and floor supervision of defined product(s)/product line.  Work with line operators or group leaders to maximize production efficiency and maintain an organized flow of material in to and out of the department.  Achieve production targets at specified quality levels within budget.  Maintain and smoothly operate a safe working environment.  Interact effectively with warehouse, material management, maintenance and engineering.  Train co-workers.  Demonstrate a positive attitude, self-initiative and ethical behavior among operators, supervisors and support personnel.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.     Promote safety, work safely and consistently ensure a safe working environment by requiring co-workers to adhere to the Company’s safety policies and procedures.
2.
     Achieve production targets on time and on budget, by coordinating scheduling, production and shipment of finished goods to the customer.
3.
       Implement and maintain line set-up information to ensure consistency.
4.
       With input from the Operations Manager and Maintenance Manager, ensure the scheduling and application of the preventative maintenance and cleaning programs.
5.
       Consistently achieve defined quality standards, using product specification information, product standards for appearance, and hand and color requirements of finished goods.
6.
       Recommend operational and cost saving improvements.
7.
       Prepare timely and accurate attendance, production, and shipping reports.
8.
       Initiate and address problems and key issues in timely and diplomatic manner, motivate others, and consistently demonstrate professionalism and leadership skills.  Follow-up on issues to ensure resolution.
9.
       Train line leads in the proper operation of the lines to ensure that quality and productivity requirements are achieved.
10.
   Train direct labor force in safe and proper operation of machines and equipment.  Promote cross training for operational efficiency and individual advancement.
11.
   Achieve material usage variances to minimize scrap and rework.
12.
   Evaluate, review and document individual job performance of line leads, operators, and assemblers.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES:

14.   4 years of college in a technical or business program or equivalent combination of education and experience.

15.   5 years of high loft processing experience.  Textile management experience preferred.  Minimum of 1 yr. of leadership/supervisory experience.

16.   Knowledge of card, garnet, pickers, Rando-Weber, slitters, and conveyors.

17.   PC proficient using MS Excel or Lotus 1-2-3.

18.  Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of prioritizing workflow to ensure follow-up.

19.   Excellent written and verbal communication skill.  Able to communicate effectively at all levels.

20.   Customer-oriented approach to problem solving.

21.   Professional attitude and presence.

22.  Knowledge of TQM essential.  ISO familiarity desired.  Effective problem solving skills required.

23.  Reliable, self-motivated team player with good interpersonal and leadership skills.

Filtration Group Mechanic -
NOVA Line (York SC)
POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs set-ups, adjustments, preventative maintenance and repairs on Nova Line.  Ensures optimal production and quality output of assigned equipment.  May perform building and/or grounds maintenance, as needed.  May supervise contractors, as required.  Able to operate all equipment on the Nova Line.

REQUIREMENTS:
1.       Two (2) years of collegiate-level technical or vocational training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2.    Four (4) years of previous equipment maintenance and repair experience, with one (1) year of work in an environment with a successful preventative maintenance program and a thorough understanding of manufacturing operation requirements.
3.
       Proven skills in electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, PLC, robotics, HVAC and machine set-up.  Shop equipment (lathe, milling, welding) ability.  Proficient in the use of hand tools.
4.
       Able to develop and maintain a PM program.
5.
       High level of mental and visual acuity.  Requires reaching, stretching, standing, lifting, bending and squatting.  May need to lift over 100 lbs.
6.
       PC literacy, TQM knowledge and ISO familiarity preferred.
7.
       Safety oriented self-motivated team player.
English skills preferred.

Curtiss-Wright Controls, is seeking an outstanding individual for the role of Director, Human Resources & EHS for the Flight Systems Division. This role will be located at the Flight Systems’ U.S. facility in Shelby, North Carolina, approximately 45 miles west of Charlotte and includes facilities in Gastonia, NC, Boca Raton, FL and Querétaro, Mexico.

Background

Curtiss-Wright Flight Systems is approximately a $135 million Commercial and Military Aerospace division within Curtiss-Wright Controls, the motion control segment of the $2 billion Curtiss-Wright Corporation (NYSE: CW). The mission of the Flight Systems Division is being the world leader in the design, manufacture, and service of high power motion control systems and components and to grow revenue via a combination of organic growth and aggressive M&A activity.

Position Summary

This leader will be an integral member of the management team guiding strategy development and organization execution. He/she will report to the Vice President General Manager of Curtiss Wright Controls Flight Systems Division.

Key Accountabilities

The successful candidate will be accountable for providing strategic HR leadership and direction across the manufacturing and engineering locations for this division and will be a member of the HR Council. This position has management responsibility for the HR professionals in the manufacturing sites for the corresponding businesses.

The successful candidate will partner with and support VPGM to achieve business objectives. He/She will provide broad range of HR support actions for achieving business objectives including talent management, organizational effectiveness, and employee engagement. The position involves facilitating solutions to employee and leadership issues; managing employee relations, developing and implementing HR strategy, policies and processes; and proactive development and coaching of leaders.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required, concentration in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Organization Development, or related discipline preferred. At least eight years progressive professional Human Resources experience including prior leadership/management roles.

Selection Criteria

The qualified candidate must have a four-year degree. He/she must have detailed knowledge of the military/aerospace industry. Candidates must be a U.S. citizen. A security clearance is not required.
